Support bicycle security advocacy

Bicycle Security Advocates works to fight bike theft and improve bike parking in Seattle, Central Puget Sound, and Pacific Northwest.

We aren’t in it for the money, but we do need help to run public education campaigns to help teach bicyclists how to register and lock-up their bikes, keep our website going, print materials to work with bike shops and event ride producers, and conduct advocacy with local municipal governments.

Here are ideas for how you can help:

  • Fund a public education campaign to put stickers on bike racks and spokecards on bikes, teaching people how to lock-up their bikes correctly and to encourage them to register their bikes.
  • Fund staff time to review new building permit applications in Seattle and ensure the developers are providing the legally required quantity and quality of bike parking.
  • Provide in-kind goods, such as bike locks and bike lights, that can be used as prizes to encourage people to lock-up their bikes correctly.
  • Donate to Bike Index to ensure their free, online registration system continues.
